One battle down, but we are still in a war. When we last heard about bill AB 2218 it was well on its way to becoming California law. It had made it through the state Assembly 64-4 and even cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee. But that is as far as it would go. It sat on the State Senate floor for over three weeks without ever...

When I see the new sub-compact 2412-20 M12 SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer I think of all the times I had to run hundreds of feet of extension cords so I could drill holes to set door thresholds at hotel jobs. The 2412-20 seems perfectly suited for these types of jobs. The 2412-20 is really small at only 9 inches in length and weighs in at only 3.9 lbs, which is surprising considering it can drill holes up to...

There is also news of a new Makita 18-volt rotary hammer that is brushless and even has an on-board HEPA vac option. What I find most interesting is not the new 36-Volt HRH01 Rotary Hammer, but the lack of 36V Makita tools in the US. While other countries have a few 36V Makita tools, up until now we've had just the one. I mean, how awesome would...

Unless you are running lag bolts, you really don't need as much as the top of the line impact drivers offer. The race to be the most powerful will never end, but that doesn't mean that you need to participate in that race. You might just need something like Bosch's new IDS181 Impactor, an Impact Driver for driving screws. Delivering 1,150 of torque, the IDS181 may offer less torque than the top of the line models, but it is far from being under powered. A smaller...

They seem to be coming out with new models every year, and each time they add more features to make them even better. Let's take a look at what the new Porter-Cable PCE605K has to offer. First, the biggest difference over the previous model is an upgrade from 2.5 amps to 3.0 amps, which evens up Porter-Cable with the other leading brands. The second big improvement is the one that really sets it apart from the rest. Feature wise, all of the brands have...

One way to ensure that your miters are looking their best is to align them with a clamp before you try and nail them together. But you can't just use any clamp, and that's where the Trim Clip Miter Clip comes in. The Miter Clip has been designed specifically for clamping together miter joints and does so using a couple of metal gripping points and a reverse cam mechanism. When you squeeze the two handles together the cam mechanism...

This time around we have the flip side to the coin. Instead of a gun made to look like a tool, we have a tool that has been designed to look like a gun. This compact drill "gun" revolver packs 3.6-volts of heat, and being that it is a revolver, it has six chambers that each...

I really liked the idea of this super compact mower that you could ride and cut your grass with, for people with a small yard. Unfortunately the reviews of the mower started to come in and they were not very good. So now it was my job to try and find you something better. I really wanted to find a compact riding mower that was under $1000 and had good user reviews. This was not easy, but I was able...
