But this is OK, we still have news on some new tools from Bosch that add to their growing cordless line. Both tools are in the 18 volt Litheon line, the first being a 4-1/2" Angle Grinder, and the second is an SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer. The Bosch Litheon line is ever growing, but it still has a ways to go to catch up to Makita. Bosch looks to be doing things right with the new CAG180 Angle...

This new Bosch store inside of The Home Depot is called the Bosch ProCenter, and is likely an area set aside just for Bosch tools. Also on hand at the Bosch ProCenter will be a Certified Expert to help answer any questions you might have about Bosch tools, and give tool demonstrations. Sounds like what Hilti did. Right now the Bosch ProCenter can only be found at a few Home Depot stores in the Chicago, Houston, and Miami areas,...

In their first video, Bosch put bat to radio in the stands of Wrigley Field to show us that their Power Box 360 radio can handle a beating. In this second video they go a little more extreme by launching one of their radios over 150 feet using some good old medieval weaponry. This test is a little harder then their typical drop...

Their new 18V lithium-ion impact wrenches weigh in at 6.7 lbs. and offer 500 foot-pounds of torque, with a total head length of 10-inches. Bosch is offering the new wrench with three different chuck choices. The IWTH180-01 uses a 1/2-inch friction ring for quick and easy socket changes, the HTH181-01 uses a 1/2-inch detent-pin for positive accessory retention and the HTH182-01 uses a 7/16-inch quick change for tool-less accessory removal and works with common...

I thought I would post a bit of entertainment today, because I know I could sure use it. One common trend that manufactures have been doing these past couple of years has been videos of their radios surviving some amazing destruction and abuse. I am not sure which brand starting doing these first, but they are something we have all come to love. The latest to get a beatdown, is the Bosch PB360 radio. After a trip to Wrigley Field, the...

Or is it? It appears to be exactly the same as the previous 4410 except for the trigger handle. Instead of using the user rotatable handle, the 4310 uses a fixed handle. I was never a fan of the old handle anyways, so this is no loss. There might be some other minor changes, but basically it is the same saw. The 4310 will retail for less, so this new model appears to be a way for...

Oscillation tools have quickly become the top tool on everybody's wish list. Because they are useful in so many applications, the tools are sought after by remodelers, electricians, plumbers, finish carpenters, and DIYer's. The oscillation tool market is still rapidly growing, but with each new tool, it becomes more and more fragmented. Why? Because every manufacture uses a different proprietary blade. In many cases, accessories from one brand will not work on the other brand. Bosch is taking the step that is needed to bring unity to a tool that really needs it by introducing the...

I asked the Tool-Rank readers not long ago if they thought 12 volt tools offered enough power, and now I would be able to see this for myself. It is weird that in the relatively short life of cordless tools we have come far enough that instead buying tools wanting excess power, we are looking at smaller tools with enough power. Why buy a tool that can drive a 6” lag bolt, when we only need to drive a...

Unfortunately, there wasn't an easy method for me to do this over the long distance. I ended up getting the task done by using a 5 point laser and plumbing down to get a reference point on the ground. Not the fastest solution, but problem solved. Then, just a couple days later Bosch comes out with a new laser that does exactly what I needed. Their new GTL3 Laser projects 3 lines on the ground to make...

Being a finish carpenter, I have on a number of occasions had to install cabinets, and vanities over tiled walls. The problem with this is that you need one drill bit to drill through wood, and another to drill through the tile. The Bosch Multi Construction Bits really make it easy to drill through both materials at the same time. Another problem I have is attaching wood backing to concrete walls with...
