Thankfully most of these compact saws come with a couple of the smaller than usual blades with your purchase, but where do you turn when you have used them up? Bosch wants you to turn to them and their new line of Pocket Reciprocating Saw Blades. Sure you can use the standard 6" or 12" reciprocating saw blade in your ultra-compact reciprocating saw, but that is not really practical. The whole point of these...

Since he does a lot of traveling for the show, I think he might get a kick out Milwaukee's latest cordless bandsaw which holds the title of lightest and most compact bandsaw on the market. Milwaukee's bandsaw is also the first to run on only 10.8-volts (M12). Weighing in at only 6.75lbs and only 1-foot in length, the M12 Milwaukee Bandsaw can be easily handled and used with only one hand. The saw also meets the OSHA guidelines for one-handed...

I don't know that Makita officially has a mid-range class of tools, but I believe these tools fall into that class for a number of reasons. Either that or Makita is moving in the wrong direction in order to produce more compact tools. The new drill is significantly smaller than the BHP454, which is what I consider Makita's top of the line...

Their new M18 FUEL line features the latest in drill technology, yet still manages to remain affordable to tradesman. So what makes the M18 FUEL line so special? How about better power, longer run times and long tool life? Brushless motors are making their way into more and more tools, and if your new tool doesn't have them, then you are missing out. Powerstate is what Milwaukee has named their brushless motor technology and it has...

If you have ever seen the show Mythbusters, you have probably seen the amazing contraptions they build to help them prove or disprove a myth. They have an amazing shop to work out of with all the tools needed to build anything. So when Adam Savage has access to so many tools, what two do you think are his favorites? There are two tools Adam says he doesn't go anywhere without and the first is a cordless band saw. He says he likes the tool because it can cut just about anything, and they use a lot...

Bosch just announced that they are coming out with the PS130 hammer drill for their 12V Max line. I don't know exactly who a 12V Max hammer drill is aimed towards, but with the popularity of ultra compact tools, I guess it makes sense. What kind of holes could you drill with a 12V Max hammer drill? I assumed that the holes you could drill into concrete with the PS130 would have to be pretty small, but I was happy to find it can drill...

The race to offer the most power has plateaued, and now manufactures have to win over our hearts with other features. Does the new Bosch HDH181 Cordless Hammer Drill have what it takes to win you over? We put it to the test. One of the most popular features as of late is size. People are not looking to brag to their friends that they have the biggest drill....

Bosch's new RHS181 18-volt cordless rotary offers the portability we want from hammer drills, with the power we expect from rotary hammers. The design of the new RHS181 is pretty cool looking. In an effort to make the tool even smaller than other cordless rotary hammers, Bosch took some of the inner workers of the tool and relocated them to...

They were a little behind and had to play catch up with their 18-volt slide-style battery tools known to us as 20V Max, but it looks like they have kept their engineers busy to keep the 20V Max selection growing fast. It was back in June 2011 when DeWalt first introduced their 20V Max tool line and now, only 8 months later, they are expanding on their line with 8 new 20V tools. ...
